Just after the announcement of the latest update, YouTube encountered a global outage. According to Downdetector, YouTube outage reports started surging at 4:30 PM PT, October 15, 2025. Around 324,764 reports were recorded at 5:17 PM PT in the USA.
Users across nations shared issues such as ‘YouTube not playing videos’ and ‘YouTube broken’ on social platforms. Users further experienced stuck videos and ads on loop. The errors were visible both on the web version and the application.
Although the issues were resolved afterward, many users expressed concerns about the latest update, suspecting a system glitch on the platform. While people faced issues while watching, streaming, and uploading, YouTube has not yet released any official statement on the matter.
