The major tech players, Microsoft, NVIDIA, and Anthropic announced a strategic partnership on November 18, 2025. This collaboration may advance Anthropic’s plans to scale Claude on Microsoft Azure and to integrate NVIDIA architecture into Anthropic. This marks a strategic shift in the AI ecosystem, boosting Anthropic's growth while Microsoft expands its partnerships beyond OpenAI.
Anthropics' Billion-Dollar Investment in Azure
As part of this expansion, Anthropic has committed to purchasing $30 billion in Azure compute capacity and up to 1 GW of compute built on NVIDIA’s Grace Blackwell and Rubin architectures.
Partnerships Between NVIDIA and Anthropic
This is the first time NVIDIA and Anthropic are moving forward with a deep-tech partnership, with the aim of boosting Anthropic's future growth. NVIDIA will work on future architectures for Anthropic’s workloads, whereas Anthropic will optimize Claude for higher performance, greater efficiency, and lower cost of ownership.
Microsoft and Anthropic are also expanding customer access to Claude through Azure AI Foundry, allowing enterprises to use models such as Claude Sonnet 4.5, Claude Opus 4.1, and Claude Haiku 4.5. This makes Claude the leading LLM across all the top cloud platforms. Microsoft will also integrate Claude into its Copilot ecosystem, including GitHub Copilot, Copilot Studio, and Microsoft 365 Copilot.
With this collaboration, NVIDIA will invest up to $10 billion, while Microsoft will invest up to $35 billion in Anthropic, pushing its valuation to an estimated $350 billion.
The announcement was declared jointly by Anthropic co-founder and CEO Dario Amodei, alongside Microsoft’s Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella, and NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang. However, Amazon remains Anthropics' first cloud provider.
The new partnerships between the tech giants are a standout approach to expanding the global AI landscape.
