FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Aug. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Intersignal today announced a new milestone in the development of its Braid protocol, demonstrating reliable, cross-platform AI state exchange across local networks without requiring a cloud service or centralized account.
Braid enables local AI systems to exchange signed, verifiable state directly between machines while leaving final acceptance under the control of the receiving device. The current research release supports Windows, macOS, and Linux environments and is designed for developers experimenting with local language models, private AI infrastructure, edge systems, and multi-machine AI workflows.
The milestone follows growing outside testing and developer feedback, including a recent hands-on feature in App Developer Magazine. The publication independently tested Braid Pathfinder across multiple machines, observing peer admission, local visualization, and direct network latency measurements during operation.

- Free Local Networking:Â Braid's core LAN and Wi-Fi functionality will remain free for local use, allowing developers, researchers, and home-lab operators to coordinate systems across hardware they control without metered local-network usage.
- Expanded Cross-Platform Support:Â Continued refinement of Braid interoperability across Windows, macOS, Linux, and heterogeneous local-model environments.
- Improved Developer Tooling:Â Expanded state inspection, diagnostics, and integration tooling intended to make multi-machine AI coordination easier to understand, test, and debug.
The planned managed networking layer is intended to extend Braid beyond a single local network without changing the protocol's central design principle:Â evidence may travel, but authority remains local.
Early-access testing of the next phase is planned with existing community developers before broader availability.
