Building a Secure Digital Workforce with AI Agent Identity Security: In Conversation with Co-Founder and CEO, Itamar Apelblat | Ep. 10

The agentic AI adoption is transforming how enterprises operate, but it is also creating a new identity security challenge. To address this, our latest episode of ExtraMile by SecureITWorld is here with top-notch insights and actionable strategies from the top leader in the cybersecurity industry.

For our latest conversation, we’re thrilled to be joined by Itamar Apelblat, Co-Founder, and CEO of Token Security. The firm is redefining AI agent security by starting with identity rather than prompt filters or model guardrails. The firm aims to provide intent-based identity security for AI agents and non-human identities.

With more than 15 years of technical and leadership experience in cybersecurity, our guest, Itamar, is a second-time entrepreneur and has a proven track record of building enterprise-grade security solutions.

Join us as Itamar takes us through his career and explains how Token Security is approaching the security needs of agentic AI.

He also sheds light on the visibility gaps organizations face, Token Security’s Enso platform, the importance of AI agent identity security, risks caused by unmanaged AI agents, and the future of identity and access management.

      Let’s dive in…

      Key Takeaways:

In the next 22 minutes our audience will gain insights to the following aspects:

      • AI agents are the new digital workforce: They operate autonomously at machine scale and are everywhere. AI agents can take actions beyond their intended purpose, creating security risks.
      • Visibility is the first step towards AI agent security: Organizations need to discover agents operating across cloud, SaaS, local devices, and other enterprise systems.
      • Enso: Token Security’s Enso allows teams to build applications, workflows, investigations, access reviews, and remediation using identity data and platform capabilities.
      • AI agents are reshaping IAM: Traditional identity management approaches were mainly designed around human users. The growth of AI agents and non-human identities needs organizations to rethink lifecycle, compliance, and access reviews.
      • Identity remains a core security foundation: As AI agents become more autonomous, controlling the identities and permissions they use remains central to preventing unintended or malicious activity.
      • Anthropic’s Claude Compliance API Integration: Enhances visibility into AI agents, their tool usage, and helps enterprises strengthen controls and enforce security policies.

Join us as Itamar takes us through his career and explains how Token Security is approaching the security needs of agentic AI.

      Itamar Apelblat

Itamar Apelblat is the Co-Founder and CEO of Token Security, and has more than 15 years of technical and leadership experience in cybersecurity. A second-time entrepreneur,  he previously co-founded a successful fintech startup and served as an officer and R&D group manager in Israel’s elite Unit 8200, where he led advanced cybersecurity initiatives. Itamar has a proven track record of building enterprise-grade security solutions and partners closely with CISOs to address complex identity and infrastructure challenges at scale.

      About Company

      Token Security

Token Security is redefining AI agent security by starting with identity rather than prompt filters or model guardrails. As enterprises adopt agentic AI, autonomous systems are writing code, calling APIs, accessing sensitive data, triggering workflows, using cloud roles, inheriting permissions, and acting across business systems at machine speed. This creates a third wave of identity risk, following workforce identity and non-human identity management.

Token Security provides intent-based identity security for AI agents and non-human identities. Its platform connects every agent and NHI to its owner, purpose, permissions, behavior, credentials, and downstream access, then determines what each identity should be able to do to fulfill its intended purpose. Token continuously enforces that boundary so autonomous identities do not become part of unmanaged attack paths.

Named a 2026 RSA Conference Innovation Sandbox Top 10 finalist, Token is defining the control plane for a workforce of autonomous identities.

Host: Hello everyone, we are back with our latest episode of ExtraMile by SecureITWorld featuring leading experts as they break down actionable approaches and tangible takeaways that matter the most in the tech world. I'm your host Rittika and for today's episode, we are going one on one with Itamar Apelblat, the Co-Founder and CEO of Token Security. The firm accelerates the secure adoption of agentic AI by discovering AI agents across an enterprise setup.

Our guest Itamar is a serial entrepreneur with more than 15 years of technical and leadership experience in cybersecurity. So, in this discussion, let's go behind the scenes from Itamar's role in unit 8200 to the boardroom, spotting invisibly agents, launching Enso, the future of identity and access management, and more. So great to have you here with us, Itamar, welcome!

Itamar: Yes. Great to be here. Thanks for the introduction.

Host: So you co-founded a fintech company, served in unit 8200 and now lead Token Security. How has your approach to cybersecurity leadership changed throughout your career span?

Itamar: Yes. So, I started in the 8200 unit and over there I was serving in the small team that was in charge of securing the data and network of the unit. So basically, the CISO of the unit, he was my manager, and I was a software engineer, and I was building stuff, building security product to a massive unit infrastructure that is also heavily targeted.

So how can you protect such a complex environment and also an engineering environment to keep involving? There's a lot of different engineers and security researchers that are doing their own stuff. How can you support them?
