Rapid growth reflects seismic shift toward greater use of AI across the MedTech industry
BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AcuityMD, the AI platform for MedTech, today announced it is now trusted by more than 500 medical device (MedTech) companies, including 16 of the top 20, such as Becton Dickinson, Olympus, and Teleflex. The milestone reflects a growing shift across the medical device industry, as commercial teams adopt AI to better understand where care is happening and to uncover new opportunities. Across its customer base, AcuityMD has helped commercial teams generate billions in pipeline opportunities in the past year alone. Now, with AcuityAI, the company expects even faster growth and adoption of AI.
MedTech companies face mounting pressure to launch innovations in an increasingly complex healthcare market. Physician movement, shifting sites of care, the growth of Ambulatory Surgical Centers (ASCs), hospital consolidation, and evolving reimbursement policies are constantly reshaping commercial opportunities. No company can track these changes alone.
AcuityMD solves this challenge by bringing together the commercial context that's fragmented across dozens of internal and external data sources. Through its proprietary MedTech ontology – which maps physicians, facilities, health systems, products, contracts, and reimbursement dynamics – AcuityMD gives commercial teams a unified and continuously updated view of the healthcare market. With AcuityAI, teams can ask questions in natural language and receive AI-powered recommendations grounded in real-world market data, identify target markets, prioritize high-value physicians, and uncover opportunities that would otherwise take hours to find.
Those insights quickly translate into action. AcuityAI has already helped customers generate thousands of accurate call plans, saving sales reps roughly 180 hours of preparation time each year – the equivalent of about a month's worth of work.
“What makes this milestone meaningful is not the number itself, but rather the impact our customers are creating with the platform,” said Lee Smith, AcuityMD Co-founder and Vice President of Customer Experience. “As AI becomes a bigger part of how MedTech companies operate, we are committed to enabling our customers to make smarter commercial decisions. We will continue investing in AI so our growing customer community can identify the best opportunities faster, and drive stronger results.”
In related news, AcuityMD just released a new report, AI Adoption in MedTech Sales: 2026 Benchmarks and Trends, revealing MedTech sales reps who use AI are three times more likely to meet or exceed quota than those who do not. The report also shows that among AI users, 92% reported saving at least four hours each week. Yet, most reps only use AI for tactical tasks – less than two out of ten reps currently use AI for account research, despite the strategic value.
